The municipality patronises the screening of ‘L’Imprenditore’.
Film against pizzo by Pasquale Vella
Monday 09 December 2024, at 21:00, at the Capitol cinema
The Municipality of Bagheria has sponsored the screening of the film ‘L’Imprenditore’, directed by Francesco Gallo, to be held on Monday 9 December 2024 at 21:00 at the Capitol cinema. A cinematographic work that, through a compelling and touching story, tackles the theme of organised crime and the courage of those who decide to oppose pizzo and mafias. The film tells the story of Pasquale Castagnetti, a building contractor who finds himself facing pressure from a powerful Mafia boss. His firm opposition to the extortion demands will lead him to experience a personal tragedy, but will also push him to react with determination, triggering a spiral of violence that will involve several figures. A strong message against violence ‘The Entrepreneur’ is much more than just a genre film: it is an opportunity to reflect on the culture of legality and the importance of denouncing any form of abuse. The message that emerges from the work is clear: violence only generates more violence and is never a solution.
At the screening of the film, the mayor of Bagheria Filippo Maria Tripoli, the councillor for Education and Sport Antonella Insinga and the municipal councillor in charge of Urban Security Domenico Barone, promoter of the event, will be present for institutional greetings. At the end of the screening, a debate moderated by Marta Gallo will offer the opportunity to explore the themes of the film and to discuss them with the protagonists. In addition to the representatives of the municipal administration, Francesco Gallo, director of the film, Pasquale Vella, screenwriter and leading actor, and Mimmo Cirrincione, co-starring actor, will speak. Particularly awaited will be the testimony of Lidia Vivoli, a victim of violence, who will bring her first-hand experience.
