“March 8 International Women’s Rights Day”: an event organized by the
FemBocs International Transfeminist Collective and the City of Bagheria
At Villa Cutò on Friday, March 8 at 11 a.m.
The history of March 8 and women’s rights, the history of the Bagheria Consultatory Users’ Committee, the services offered to young people and women by the Bagheria Consultatory, and the presentation of the Fembocs Collective and Punto Viola at the Bocs APS are some of the topics that will be covered during the event, “March 8 International Women’s Rights Day,” organized by the FemBocs International Transfeminist Collective and the City of Bagheria.
At the event to be held at Villa Cutò, Friday, March 8, 2024, from 11 a.m., the following will be present for institutional greetings: Giuseppina Chiello, councillor for Communication, Provvidenza Tripoli, councillor for Education and Antonella Insinga, city councilwoman.
Professor Caterina Mineo, lawyer Rosa Guida, lawyer Chiara Zaia, professor Rosa La Camera, Federica Alabiso and professor Mariela Rodriguez will speak.
Representatives of the International Transfeminist Collective FemBocs and the Users’ Committee of the Bagheria Counseling Center will also speak.
The event is part of the initiatives planned by the municipal administration on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Fembocs is the transfeminist collective of Bagheria, born from the Bocs Aps association of Bagheria and is a transfeminist group that was formed after the events of the rape in Palermo last year to give a voice to women in the area (and elsewhere) regarding the system of oppression by the patriarchy, cause of various gender violence that the group is committed to fighting.
