International Game Day will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
The municipal administration, on the input of the Department of Public Education and Sport led by Antonella Insinga with the collaboration of the councilor delegated to Communication Giusi Chiello, in support of the associations that will organize the event that in Bagheria was also conceived with the support of Nunzio Gagliano, has planned a first organizational meeting.
All local associations, informal groups, free citizens, parish groups and anyone who wants to participate are invited to the meeting that will be held on Wednesday 26 March 2025 at 6:00 pm at Villa Butera.
World Play Day was established on 28 May 1998. The idea was by Freda Kim, president of the ITLA (International Association of Playrooms) and was approved in Seoul in the same year. The United Nations accepted the proposal and set the anniversary for 28 May. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child recognizes the right of the child to rest and leisure, and to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to his or her age.
