Journalism and museum communication in the digital age.

“Telling Art” Journalism and museum communication in the digital era is the title of the seminar organized by Assostampa Siciliana FNSI united union of journalists of Sicily with the collaboration of Pa Social, the national association for the new communication – coordination Sicily and under the patronage of the municipality of Bagheria.
The seminar, which is among the continuing education appointments for journalists and entitles them to 4 credits, will be attended, for institutional greetings, by the mayor of Bagheria Filippo Maria Tripoli, the councillor for Communication Giusy Chiello who immediately espoused Assostampa’s proposal, the councillor for Culture Daniele Nicola Vella, the councillor for Tourism Provvidenza Tripoli; the scientific director of the Guttuso Archives Marco Carapezza and Gianluca Caltanissetta secretary of Assostampa Palermo.
The conference, moderated by journalist Marina Mancini, is part of the events scheduled for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the birth of the Guttuso Museum in Villa Cattolica. The municipal administration of Bagheria, at the suggestion of Councillor Chiello in synergy with Culture Councillor Vella , organized a free accompanied tour of the museum for all participants, to follow immediately after the seminar.
Lecturers, journalists and experts in the museum and cultural sector will take turns in the reports. Among them will be Alessia Franco, writer and journalist of the Antonio Pasqualino Puppet Museum press office, Bbc contributor, and press officer of the Fondazione Sicilia; University of Palermo researcher Sergio Intorre, art historian; and Giornale di Siclia journalist Simonetta Trovato, press officer of Le vie dei tesori and press office curator of museums and archaeological sites.
There will also be asynchronous and remote speeches by Giulio Stumpo, senior consulting economist at Ostia Antica Archaeological Park, founding partner of Liv.In.G. Live Internationalization Gateway S.r.l. social enterprise and president of ACTA association of freelancers; archaeologist Elisa Bonacini, digital communication expert and researcher in museology at the University of Bari; archaeologist and tour guide Serena Raffiotta; and Barbara Gramollotti, coordinator of PA Social Table of Tourism and Novese district referent.
Among the topics under discussion, in addition to the best practices of the Paqualino Museum, Le vie dei Tesori, and the Salinas Museum, will be digital technology for museums and collections, how to read the numbers of culture, storytelling of cultural heritage, and the state of the art of communication of Sicilian cultural heritage.
