Feast of St. Joseph: Closes the feast of the patron saint today,
showman Nino Frassica performs in the square
Monday, August 05, 2024
The festivities in honor of Bagheria’s patron saint St. Joseph conclude tonight.
Starting at 8:30 p.m. on the stage in Piazza Madrice after a performance by DJ Set Danilo Lo Jacono, to be followed by a performance by well-known showman Nino Frassica, accompanied by Los Plaggers, a band made up of six formidable musicians; the name Plaggers is a fusion of Platters and plagiarism. The show is a highly original and engaging concert/cabaret musical journey. A great feast, a musical memory operation with a repertoire consisting of more than one hundred revised and corrected songs, in which very famous songs, while retaining their own identity, are cut and stitched together in Frassica’s way.
Songs such as “Cacao Meravigliao,” “Grazie dei Fiori bis,” to which “Viva la pappa col pomodoro” will be added, but also “Mamma mia dammi cento lire” and theme songs of yesteryear such as “Portobello” or the music from commercials; and again “Campagna” becomes “Voglio andare a vivere con i cugini di campagna,” and then “Siamo donne” which ends with “Donna a Surriento,” “Neri per sempre,” “Tuca tuca,” etc.
Protagonist can also be the audience that with Frassica’s musical inventions, can sing and participate directly in the show thanks to medleys dedicated to the music of the 60s and 70s, tributes to Santana and Battisti.
Nino Frassica
At the dawn of his career, in 1985 Arbore involved him in the variety show “Quelli della notte” as Friar Antonino da Scasazza, organizer of an unlikely prize contest. This is followed by “Indietro tutta” where he plays the role of a good presenter and puts on a hilarious parody of the typical TV host. He later participates in “Fantastico,” “Domenica In,” “Scommettiamo che…?”, “I Cervelloni,” “Acqua calda,” “Colorado Café” and “Markette” hosted by Piero Chiambretti. In 1999 he began the adventure of the TV drama “Don Matteo” with Terence Hill, Flavio Insinna and later Simone Montedoro, and now with Raoul Bova. Nino plays the role of Carabinieri marshal Nino Cecchini. In 2020 he is in the Channel 5 drama Fratelli Caputo, together with Cesare Bocci. He took part in several editions of the program “I migliori anni” hosted by Carlo Conti. He takes part in Sabina Guzzanti’s program aired on La7 entitled “Un due tre stella,” in which he reprises some of his characters. Since 2015 he has been hosting “Programmone” on Rai Radio 2 and is a regular guest on Sunday nights at “Che Tempo Che Fa” hosted by Fabio Fazio. In February 2016 he is a guest at the Sanremo Festival hosted by Carlo Conti with the double interview together with Gabriel Garko and interpreting “A Mare Si Gioca” fable in music written by Tony Canto, he then returns to the Sanremo Festival again in 2018. In 2023, he is one of the main characters in “LOL: Who’s Laughing is Out 3,” and also in 2023 he conceived and starred in the live TV show “Sconcert” aired on Prime Video. “PAOLA” is his latest book, following “VIPP – all the Veritane,” “Novella Bella,” “Sani Gesualdi Superstar” and “My Autobiography (70% true 80% false)”.
