Cutò Palace and the City Library extend their opening hours
From Tuesday, September 24, 2024
It had been promised by the municipal administration and it has been put into practice: as of September 24, Villa Aragona Cutò, home of the municipal library will be open to citizens every day. Citizens and tourists will be able to access the facility every day, Monday through Sunday, according to the following schedule:
– Tuesday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
– Monday, Saturday and Sunday: 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
This reorganization, which was desired by the Tripoli Administration during the last syndication, is finally seeing the light of day, based on the proposal and commitment of the then councillor Giuseppina Chiello, now a city councilwoman with responsibility for Communication and Technological Innovation.
“The extension of the opening of the municipal library to Villa Cutò is a source of great pride,” said Giusy Chiello, ”because it will allow citizens to enjoy not only a rich library heritage, but also one of the most valuable assets of our territory. In fact, the frescoed rooms on the second floor will also be open to the public, offering a unique opportunity to enhance and experience the palace.”
Meanwhile, new projects related to the library are being developed, with the aim of offering additional services and involving young people more, re-evaluating their role within the community.
Mayor Filippo Tripoli also expressed his satisfaction: “The opening of Villa Aragona Cutò every day and in the afternoons and mornings of holidays is an important step for the services it offers to the area. It not only enhances an extraordinary cultural asset such as Villa Cutò, but also represents an opportunity for citizens and tourists to enjoy an exceptional heritage. The library also acts as a reference point for young people, contributing to the creation of a place of aggregation and culture, in synergy with the single ticket project for our cultural heritage”.
The Administration invites all citizens to discover the new spaces made available for the community and to enjoy our library.
“We would like to thank the apex of the Culture Directorate Onofrio Lisuzzo and the employees of the culture directorate and the library in particular for their cooperation” – thus Councillor for Personnel Francesco Gurrado.
