Concert by Maestro Giovanni Moncada on the piano

The evening openings of Villa Butera continue with musical entertainment. On Thursday 4 January 2024 from 6.00 pm, it will be possible to visit the villa, the representative seat of the municipality of Bagheria, in addition to the exhibition of the nativity scenes on the main floor created by the artistic high school of Bagheria Renato Guttuso, by the young Francesco Gagliano and by the boys of ‘Pro-H association “Vivere Vivere Insieme”, you can visit the photographic exhibition “In Bagheria a look at P.er.T.E. “, organized by the Municipality and Asp, on display in the Council room, the room with models of the villas of Bagheria and the room with the famous frescoes by Borremans.
The visit will be enriched by the entertainment of Maestro Giovanni Moncada on the piano who will perform songs taken from famous international cinema soundtracks.
The event is among those planned by the municipal administration on the occasion of the 2023/2024 Christmas celebrations through the Department of Entertainment and Communication directed by Giusy Chiello.
Another opening of Villa Butera is scheduled for 6 January 2024 with musical entertainment by trumpeter Giacomo Tantillo.
The musician, Giovanni Moncada, from Bagheria, graduated in piano at the “A. Scontrino” Conservatory of music in Trapani. He subsequently studied harpsichord at the same institute. He participated in piano specialization courses held by important masters including: A. Ciccolini, B. Petrushansky, and with M. Durassier in Paris. For years he has been invited by important cultural and musical bodies and associations throughout Italy: AGIMUS, Amici della Musica, Tempietto di Roma, SIEM, Rotary International, etc. He has held numerous concerts both as a soloist and in various chamber ensembles in Italy and abroad (Spain, France, United States, Brazil), receiving acclaim from critics and the public. For 25 years he has performed regularly on Costa Crociere ships as a classical pianist and in the last 4 years he has made four world trips. His repertoire is vast and includes pieces ranging from the Baroque period to the present day.
He will perform music by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Lehar and soundtracks.
