City preview of the short film “Omayma” by Fabio Schifilliti
with co-screenplay by Paolo Pintacuda from Bagheria
Friday 8 March 2024 at 09.15 am at the Excelsior cinema
On the occasion of the “International Women’s Rights Day”, the head teacher of the “Francesco Scaduto” State Gymnasium High School Carmen Tripoli and the president of the Inner Wheel club Baharia Katia Lo Piparo together with the secretary Pina Provino offer a city preview of the short film “Omayma” directed by Fabio Schifilliti and screenplay by fellow citizen Paolo Pintacuda and the director himself.
The initiative aims to be a thank you to Paolo Pintacuda, for his social commitment, his passion, his artistic flair and his connection with his city. Through the cinematic language Pintacuda and Schifillitti narrate a story of female inclusion and emancipation with a tragically topical ending.
The event will take place on 8 March 2024 at 09.15 am at the Excelsior cinema. After watching the short film, the high school students will talk to the director and the screenwriter. This will be followed by interventions by the teachers of the Liceo Scaduto Mimmo Aiello and Maurizio Padovano and by Federica Alabiso of the intersectional transfeminist collective FemBocs.
The day does not intend to propose a female self-celebration but an invitation to everyone’s constant commitment, to political and cultural discussion and dialogue.
