City of Bagheria Concert Season: Bagheria celebrates Puccini’s centenary
with an exceptional concert on Renato Guttuso’s birthday

The city of Bagheria is preparing to celebrate the centenary of Giacomo Puccini’s death with a concert scheduled for December 26th at 6.00 pm at the Chapel of Santa Rosalia in Villa Cattolica.
This is the 85th concert of the VIII City of Bagheria Concert Season, the event is a tribute to the great Italian composer and will see the performance of two talented artists: the soprano Anna Giulia Anselmo and the pianist Giovanni Moncada, under the artistic direction by director Salvatore Di Blasi.
The concert, entitled “Happy Birthday Renato Guttuso”, because it falls on the birthday of the Bagheria master of twentieth century painting, will offer the public a musical journey through Puccini’s most famous works, with songs taken from “Otello”, “Gianni Schicchi ”, “La Bohème” and “Turandot”. There will also be famous arias and duets that have thrilled generations of spectators.
Anna Giulia Anselmo is a Soprano from Palermo, she has numerous concerts and tours in Italy and abroad. His intense and versatile voice will be the protagonist of the evening. Giovanni Moncada, an internationally renowned pianist, has collaborated with important orchestras and soloists. Her mastery and musical sensitivity will accompany the soprano on an exciting journey.
The two artists will be directed by Salvatore Di Blasi, artistic director and president of Corus Inside Sicilia, artistic curator of the concert.
The concert, which is part of the program of the “Città di Bagheria” Concert Season sponsored by the Municipality, is organized by the Bequadro Cultural Association chaired by Giovanni Gargano and the Laudate Dominum Choir.
