Bagheria is approaching Christmas: here are the next events of the week
of the rich program of events!
After the great success of the Sfincione fest which opened the Christmas holidays and which recorded 130,000 visitors in three days, the events with the Christmas calendar continue, with a rich calendar of events organized by the Municipal Administration and local associations. A unique opportunity to immerse yourself in tradition, admire works of art, listen to music, book presentations and discover the talent of local artists.
The skilled hands of Gaspare Scarpulla give life to creations in wood, resin and wicker. An exhibition that celebrates the ancient art of craftsmanship and the beauty of the handmade: the exhibition kicks off today at Villa San Cataldo at 5pm.
Two events dedicated to reading: the presentation of the book by architect Cesare Capitti, a fascinating journey into urban anthropology, Friday 29 November, at 10:00 in the Fumagalli Martorana room at 10:00, and the collection of poems by Alessandro Restivo, who with his words will accompany us on an emotional journey to Villa San Cataldo at 5pm again on Friday 29 November.
A photographic exhibition celebrates 50 years of the “Ling” sports center of the maestro Vincenzo Di Liberto, retracing the history of sport in Bagheria through the images of the athletes who made the history of the city and will be inaugurated on Saturday 30 November, at 10:00 am, at Villa San Cataldo and will remain open until 7 December, open to visitors from 9.00 to 18.00. An afternoon of art and entertainment awaits you on Saturday 30 November, starting from 6pm, along Corso Umberto which will be transformed into an open-air stage with a traveling exhibition of dance, theatre, music and painting. An explosion of colors and sounds that will involve adults and children and to which is added an extemporaneous painting with the fingers of the artist Maria D’Amico aka “DAMA”, the musical art with the maestro Giuseppe Palma and the Maestro Salvatore Mommo and the art of dance with Alessandro Napoli’s “Paladance” company.
The Christmas atmosphere will be even more intense thanks to the nativity scene exhibition, an exhibition that brings together the works of master nativity scene makers, and the concert by the Montalbano Quartet, which will enchant us with the most beautiful Christmas melodies. On Sunday 1 December, at 6.00 pm, the inauguration of the nativity scene exhibition will take place in Piazza Beppe Montana (ex Alfano) curated by Maestro Enzo Raspante. At 7.00 pm the musical journey which includes the most famous and significant Christmas melodies starts. (from traditional Italian, English and Provençal songs to compositions by classical authors to negro-spirituals in an unusual guise, with arrangements with original strings and of great effect with the “Quartetto Montalbano” composed of the musicians Domenico Marco and Francesca Gabriella Iusi, violins, the musician Giuseppe Brunetto, viola and Domenico Guddo, Cello, at the Mother Church.
