Bagheria goes international with “Caring, Taking Care.
A weekend dedicated to art and care
The opening of the exhibition and the press conference will take place on Thursday 3 October 2024
The Guttuso Museum in Villa Cattolica is the centre of a deep reflection on care. The exhibition “CAREful Details” and the international conference “Caring, Taking Care” show that Bagheria is a leading city for contemporary art and culture.
Arrigo Musti has put together the exhibition “CAREful Details”, which features works by artists including Francesco Domilici, Anna Fici, Lev Manovich, Giancarlo Marcocchi, Stefano Montes, Gaetano Sabato and Fabio Savagnone. It encourages visitors to think about the details of everyday life. The artists explore different aspects of care, from relationships to the environment.
The international conference, organised by Stefano Montes and Gaetano Sabato from the University of Palermo, will take place on 4 and 5 October from 9:30 to 19:00. It will bring together world-renowned experts to discuss the concept of care. From humanities to medicine, art to technology, participants will explore the theory and practice of care in a complex world.
On Saturday 5 October, Lev Manovich will join the conference from New York. Manovich will offer a unique perspective on how the concept of care has evolved in the digital age.
The opening of the exhibition and press conference will be held on Thursday 3 October at 17:00 at Villa Cattolica. It’s a unique chance to meet the artists, curators and experts involved in the project.
