Bagheria celebrates the history of the “Sicilian Cart” with Lisa Sciortino’s book

On Wednesday, September 25, at 6 p.m., Villa Cattolica, home of the Guttuso Museum, will host the presentation of the book “Il Carretto Siciliano nella collezione di Domenico Galioto” by Lisa Sciortino.

The book, whose presentation is sponsored by the City of Bagheria,brings together an extensive collection of photographs taken by Angelo Restivo, documenting cart owner Domenico Galioto’s passion for the Sicilian cart. Through evocative and detailed images, the book transports us to a world of bright colors, symbols and stories, revealing an artistic and cultural heritage of inestimable value.
The presentation will be attended by Lisa Sciortino, author of the book, professor Domenico Aiello, Don Cosimo Scordato, architect Michele Ducato, professor Tommaso Romano, and photographer Angelo Restivo.
The city administration will be present with Mayor Filippo Maria Tripoli, Councillor Antonella Insinga, Culture Councillor Daniele Vella and City Councilor Antonello Gargano.
The book, enriched by a preface by Domenico Aiello and an introduction by Michele Ducato, is a unique opportunity to learn more about the Sicilian cart and its history. It is a not-to-be-missed event for all lovers of art, culture and folk traditions.
