At the Don Milani Centre the presentation of the book ‘Five Lives’ by Mari Albanese
Saturday 22 February 2025

The book by Maria Albanese entitled ‘Cinque Vite’ (Five Lives) will be presented on 22 February 2025 at 6 p.m. at the Centro Don Milani, under the patronage of the Municipality of Bagheria. The book collects unpublished accounts by family members of Paolo Borsellino’s escort, with direct testimonies on the judge’s life and his commitment in the fight against the Mafia.
After the greetings of the mayor of Bagheria, Filippo Maria Tripoli, and the introduction by the councillor for Social Policies, Emanuele Tornatore, the author Mari Albanese, the journalist Daniela Tornatore, and Victoria De Lisi, girlfriend of Borsellino’s escort, Fabio Li Muli, will speak.
Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino were two key figures in the fight against the Mafia in Italy. Both judges dedicated their lives to fighting organised crime and were killed by the Mafia in 1992. Their legacy lives on today, inspiring new generations of citizens and institutions in the fight for legality and justice. Keeping the memory of Falcone and Borsellino alive is essential to honour their sacrifice and to continue their battle against the Mafia. Their story reminds us of the importance of not lowering our guard and of working every day to build a fairer society free from organised crime.
