“A Pizza for a Smile” at Villa San Cataldo:
An Art Therapy Workshop that Unites Everyone
Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024
On Sunday, Nov. 10, the garden of Villa San Cataldo will be transformed into a workshop of creativity and inclusion thanks to the initiative “A Pizza for a Smile” by pizza chef Lorenzo Aiello. The event, which enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Bagheria and the collaboration of “APizza Catering,” will see the participation of children of all ages, with special attention to children with disabilities. Present for institutional greetings will be the mayor of Bagheria, Filippo Maria Tripoli, councillors for Education and Sports, Antonella Elisa Insinga, Suap Giuseppe Tripoli and Social Policies Emanuele Tornatore.
During the day, participants will be guided by experts in the art of pizza making, learning how to knead, roll out and season their personalized pizza.
But “A Pizza for a Smile” is more than just a culinary workshop. It is an opportunity to promote inclusion, socialization and well-being through art therapy. As Chef Aiello points out, “Pizza is a universal language that unites people of all ages and backgrounds. In this workshop, we want to offer children, especially those with disabilities, a fun and creative experience that helps them express themselves and overcome any barriers.”
The Bagheria municipal administration has enthusiastically welcomed this project. Mayor Filippo Maria Tripoli said, “We are happy to host this initiative that is touring Italy and promoting fundamental values such as solidarity, inclusion, and valuing differences. ‘A Pizza for a Smile’ is a concrete example of how the community can come together for all our children. I thank Chef Aiello and all collaborators for this valuable contribution.”
In addition to the pizza workshop, the day will feature entertainment, music and games for all children. It will be an opportunity to spend a Sunday of fun and sharing in a festive and welcoming atmosphere.
