50th Birth of the Guttuso Museum: Saturday, Feb. 24 at 4:30 p.m.

More than 25 donors and artists, more than 190 works, a dedicated catalog, this and much more can be admired by visitors to the Guttuso Museum in Villa Cattolica from Saturday, Feb. 24, starting at 6 p.m. in the new layout of the second floor of the central building of Villa Cattolica, home of the museum dedicated to the great 20th-century artist Renato Guttuso.
On the occasion of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the birth of the museum, the city administration in collaboration with the Guttuso Archives and thanks to the extraordinary contribution provided by the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Sicilian Region has organized not only the opening of the second floor but also a series of initiatives and events that will be presented during the press conference that will precede the ribbon cutting of the new layout.
The journalists, during the press conference at 4:30 p.m., will meet with the mayor of Bagheria , Filippo Maria Tripoli, Culture Councillor Daniele Vella, Dora Favatella Lo Cascio, municipal consultant for the preservation of the City’s cultural and monumental heritage, Lina Bellanca, consultant for the monumental heritage of Bagheria’s municipal villas, both members of the Scientific Committee also formed by Dr. Cristina Costanzo, Professor Maria Concetta Di Natale, and architect Rosario Scaduto, E.Q. Directorate II “Culture” Onofrio Lisuzzo.
Also present at the conference will be the president of the Guttuso Archives, Tiziana Cristallini Carapezza Guttuso and the scientific director of the Archives, Marco Carapezza.
Several artists whose works enrich the new exhibit will attend, and regional leaders, mayors of the district and civil and military authorities have been invited.
Partner of the event is the Duca di Salaparuta winery, which will be present with its director Roberto Magnisi.
