Carnilivari in Baaria: “U carnalivari du Màu” will be inaugurated on 6 February
Visitable until February 13th at Villa San Cataldo
The initiatives planned in the Canascialesque program “Carnilivari a Baaria” organized by the Municipality of Bagheria are approaching. The Nofriu and Virticchiu cultural association, in collaboration with the regional art high school of Bagheria “Renato Guttuso” and the patronage of the Municipality of Bagheria present “U Carnalivari du Màu” ccu griddu pintu.
The event will be held from 6 to 13 February, at Villa San Cataldo, with inauguration on 6 February at 4pm. The exhibition can then be visited from 6 to 13 February, in the rooms adjacent to the offices of Villa San Cataldo, from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 17:00.
The two typical figures of the territories of Bagheria (u Màu) and Santa Flavia (Griddu Pintu) will act as guides to show how Carnival is celebrated in Sicily and beyond.
With the collaboration of the children of the regional artistic high school of Bagheria “Renato Guttuso”, under the guidance of professors Pasquale Lo Presti and Rosa Terranova and various artists, it will be possible to visit an exhibition of masks, posters of storytellers, paintings, and listen to storytellers the fairy tales of the oral tradition.
The art teachers are Pietro Aiello, Silvia Costa, Maria Pia Esposito, Loredana Lauria, Antonella Stillone with the students of the “Renato Guttuso” art high school.
The storytellers: Grazia Affatigato, Dora Bellavia, Giuseppe Bruno, Giorgia De Luca, Maria Pia Esposito, Nina Tarantino.
The councilor for Communication and Entertainment Giusy Chiello will be present at the inauguration, who coordinated the work for the organization of the calendar of events for the Bagheria carnival.
