‘Building Peace’: event at the Villa Butera Theatre in Bagheria attended

The event “Building Peace” will be held tomorrow, Thursday 6 March, at 6:00 pm, at the Villa Butera Theatre in Villa Butera, with the patronage of the Municipality of Bagheria.
The initiative, organized by the Community of Sant’Egidio, the Archdiocese of Palermo – Office for Social Pastoral Care of Work, the CDA Palermo (Diocesan Consultation of Lay Aggregations) in addition to the Municipality of Bagheria, aims to promote a reflection on the theme of peace, in a historical moment marked by conflicts and tensions at a global level.
After the institutional greetings of the mayor, Filippo Maria and the councilor for Social Policies of the Municipality of Bagheria, Emanuele Tornatore, Vincenzo Ceruso, secretary of the CDA of the Diocese of Palermo, Emiliano Abramo, of the Community of Sant’Egidio, Keith Abdelhafid, president of the Islamic Community of Sicily, will speak. The conclusions will be entrusted to the Archbishop of Palermo, His Excellency Monsignor Corrado Lorefice. Moderator Luisa Capitummino, director of the Social Pastoral Office of Labour of the Diocese of Palermo.

“Peace is a precious asset to be cultivated daily, through dialogue, mutual respect and solidarity”, declares the Councilor for Social Policies Emanuele Tornatore. “In an increasingly interconnected world, it is essential to promote a culture of peace that involves everyone, starting with local communities. This event represents an important opportunity for discussion and common growth, to build together a future of peace and hope”.

The event is open to all citizens, until all seats are filled.
