A tribute to Filippo Panseca, a multifaceted artist and leading figure in local culture, will take place on Wednesday 5 March 2025, at 5:30 pm, in the Martorana – Fumagalli room of Villa Butera, on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of his birth.
The event, organized by the Angelo Fiore Study Center, enjoys the patronage of the municipality of Bagheria and the Bagheria Museum.
The mayor of Bagheria, Filippo Maria Tripoli, will be present at the event for institutional greetings. Greetings will follow from the president of the “Angelo Fiore Study Center” Giuseppe Pagano. To remember the figure and work of Panseca, the following will speak: Franco Lo Piparo, professor emeritus of the University of Palermo; Maurizio Padovano, professor and writer and Valentino Catricalà, curator and art critic.
During the event, the video “Ritratto invisibile” will be screened, a tribute to Panseca created by Aurelio Mustacciuoli and Laura Boggero.
Filippo Panseca was an eclectic artist, capable of ranging from painting to sculpture, from scenography to photography, leaving an indelible mark on the cultural panorama of Bagheria and beyond. His work was characterized by a strong originality and a constant search for new forms of expression.
