Bagheria: a Christmas full of emotions with a busy calendar of events.
Here are those from 25 to 31 December 2024
The rich programme of events that will animate the city’s streets and squares until New Year’s Day continues. The municipal administration has organised a varied calendar, ranging from music to living nativity scenes, art exhibitions to theatre performances, involving local associations and artists.
Wednesday 25 December, at 11.00 a.m., there will be ‘Natale Vista Mare’ (Christmas Sea View) with an engaging music set by Gaetano Sampino, organised by the Proloco of Aspra, in Piazza Crocicchia Aspra (platform), Thursday 26 December, at 6.00 p.m., as already announced, a concert-musical tribute to Renato Guttuso, on his birthday, and to Giacomo Puccininel centenary of the death of the great composer, organised by the Bequadropresso association at the small church of Santa Rosalia in Villa Cattolica, also on Thursday 26, at 6.00 p.m. and Sunday 29 December there will be the traditional Living Nativity at the church of Maria SS. del Carmelo, followed at 7p.m. by the Christmas Concert of the S. Joseph Choir, directed by Mauro Visconti, at the Mother Church. We move on to art on Friday 27 December, at 5.00 p.m., with the inauguration of the collective art exhibition at the municipal headquarters of Aspra, in Piazza Mons. Cipolla, and also on Friday 27 December, at 7.00 p.m., there will be the ‘Afrostatic’ show in Piazza Sepolcro, with music, dance, and visual images, organised by Maurizio Giglio better known as Mauriziotto, a well-known DJ. At the weekend, Saturday 28 December at 7.00 p.m. the well-known trumpeter, Giacomo Tantillo, will perform ‘Bandistikamente’, a travelling concert in Corso Umberto, starting from Piazza Sepolcro. The Tamburinai di Baaria will enliven the Corso Umberto, Sunday 29 December, 5 p.m.
Again on Sunday 29 December, at 5.30 p.m., music again with the Concert of the Marian Youth Association with ‘The Nutcracker and the Christmas gifts’ at the Mons. G. Muratore Theatre. Also on Sunday, but at 6.00 p.m., ‘Un violino sotto le stelle’ (A violin under the stars), Mario Renzi and Fabio Ribaudo will make citizens walking along Corso Umberto I dream. From 22 to 29 December, space will be given to solidarity with the Decoupage exhibition curated by Paola Buttitta on behalf of the Le Muse association at Villa Cuto’ in the morning, from 9:00 to 14:00. The objects will be on sale, with the proceeds going to the Redivici association, which works to help families in extreme poverty. On 29 December, at 10.00 a.m., the charity exhibition will also close at Villa Cutò with the handover of the proceeds to the association Redivivi per bambini speciali.
More music then, on Monday 30 December, at 7.00 p.m., with the Christmas viola da gamba concert by maestro Nereo Luigi Dani, organised by the Bequadro association, at the Mother Church. The programme, which is subject to change, was organised thanks to the coordination of councillor Antonella Insinga, supported by the entire municipal council and councillor Giusy Chiello.
