Sunday, Aug. 11, “GIACOMO TANTILLO & THE ZISAS – BANDISTIKAMENTE” From an original idea of jazz musician Giacomo Tantillo, with arrangements and musical production by Roy Paci, Bandistikamente was born, an innovative musical project that looks to the past in a modern key. The young jazz musician retraces his musical beginnings when, still a child, he took his first steps in the world of music, militating in the village band. It is an emotional journey, paying homage to the childhood memories of all of us, when the marching band was the indispensable soundtrack of all the happiest days. Today, as back then, Bandistikamente offers an instrumental journey for trumpet, Female vocals, baritone sax, euphonium, trombone, keyboards and drums, which through a repertoire of famous symphonic and military marches and unreleased pieces by Maestro Tantillo, will project the listener into the dimension of celebration! Saturday, Aug. 24 “GAETANO RICCOBONO 4et – NOBODY ELSE BUT ME” A concert dedicated to the mainstream of great American voices and composers that puts Gaetano Riccobono’s vocals and the interplay of the rhythm section center stage. The repertoire focused on broadway song leaves room for small forays into Brazilian and Italian music. The concert takes its title from the Sicilian singer’s latest recording works available on all lebasi online music platforms. Gaetano Riccobono vocals; Oscar Zenari piano; Luca Pisani C.bass; Simone Rumolo drums; Alessandro Stagno classic guitar.
Saturday, Aug. 31 “DAVID BARON STEVENS – EVOLUTION”
Evolution is a collection that demonstrates how popular music has influenced the jazz repertoire from the 1930s to the present, songs that have pushed its boundaries to the point of making use of modern melodies. It includes classic jazz stardards such as George Gershwin’s “Summertime” and Wayne Shoter’s “Footprints” with modern arrangements influenced by Stefon Harris and Terence Blanchard, respectively, from funk and hip hop. It recalls neo soul and 90′ artists such as sympathetic “Soulquarians” Erykah Badu and D’Angelo. It linearly follows the path traced from jazz to soul music to funk. This unique project, entirely conceived, created and directed by David, demonstrates that jazz cannot be considered simply a “musical genre” but also melody-improvisation-melody.
