“Sunsets of Words” Author meetings at the Domina-Zagarella.
Among the sponsors is the City of Bagheria
Starting June 21 through Sept. 27, 2024
PALERMO – The 1960s were running and in the enchanting setting of the Zagarella hotel in Santa Flavia (Palermo), the pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea, a literary and artistic revolution was born, which would influence the Italian cultural scene, the “Gruppo 63”: Nanni Balestrini, Umberto Eco, Alberto Arbasino, Giorgio Manganelli, Francesco Agnello and many others.
Now, the literary review “Tramonti di Parole” is ready to bring back those atmospheres with a series of appointments, which will mark the summer of Domina Zagarella Sicily, every Friday from 6:30 p.m. starting June 21 and ending Sept. 27.
Amid the charm of the sea and the magic of twilight, writers and journalists will take turns, in the space managed by Wonderful and Dclub, to present their works and explore topical issues, from politics to culture, from society to personal introspection, and dialogue with the public in a unique and evocative atmosphere.
The initiative, in its First edition, is promoted by the Sicilian Parliamentary Press in collaboration with the Preatoni family’s Domina hotel group, Innovation Island and Restart Palermo and sponsored by the Sicilian Regional Assembly, the Presidency of the Sicilian Region and the Municipality of Bagheria.
“Sunsets of Words” will not be a simple event, but a moment of meeting and dialogue where authors, readers and culture enthusiasts will be able to confront each other, exchange opinions and increase their knowledge. It aims to break the mould and offer a new look at contemporary reality through the words and experiences of the authors involved, such as Francesco Terracina, Lucio Luca, Salvo Toscano, Alessia Cannizzaro, Accursio Sabella, Giovanni Villino, Giovanni Franco, Nicola Cristaldi, Claudia Lanteri, Gianni Puglisi, Lirio Abbate, Gaetano Perricone and Sergio Grimaldi.
The first appointment with “Tramonti di Parole” is set for tomorrow, Friday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m. with the presentation of the book “Dalla parte giusta” (On the Right Side) by journalist Accursio Sabella, published by Laurana editore: amid conspiracies, shady deals and coups, the author tells the story of a revolutionary political group and its protagonists, revealing intrigues and abuses of power.
Moderating will be Giuseppe Bianca, editor of ilSicilia.it and member of the board of the Parliamentary Press.
To confirm one’s attendance at the cultural events, it would be useful, as a matter of logistical organization, to send a communication to one of two e-mail addresses: stampaparlamentare.sicilia@gmail.com and info@dominasicily.it .
Those who plan to stay for dinner at the facility, during the events, will necessarily have to communicate this in advance directly to Domina, at 091-903077.
